So as I said the cycle of yo-yo dieting really began after the birth of my second child. In 1998 my husband went to Bosnia for his long 8 month tour.It was a stressful time for me with 2 young kids on my own and paying bills and having the responsibility that was left for me....At the time I weight about 265 lbs and a friend and I decided to go on a diet together. With her by my side and living very close we both succeded and lost alot of weight.I ended at 185 lbs when my husband returned home...I remember the night when I was in the hanger in Petawawa waiting for him to come out of the doors,he looked at me and walked past me....his friend who was also at the time our roomie noticed and me and almost lost it...he then grabs Mike and pulls him over.WOW what a great feeling.Just like all marriages me and Mike had our ups and downs. After being home for awhile I told him that I needed to go back to Germany to help with my sick Grandmother....Being home was great and made me think about my unhappy marriage....i was young and didn't know how to communicate with my husband...I looked for an appartment and filed for divorce...I never thought that he would fight for us so much...he came to Germany to rescue our marriage...on my return back to Canada I started to gain all my weight back and then some...I was very unhappy and ate my feelings...which I guess alot of us do.When we got transfered to North Bay I decided to go back on a diet to lose weight..I found a job at the local call center and started to really pile on the pounds...I ended up at over 325lbs.The sad thing is that I didn't have a clue how much I weight until we went to Sudbury one day to Costco and I stepped on a scale....what a shock that was...that was the day I decided that the "Real Pina" needed to shine....so I started to research on how the I can get healthy and change my life style...I will never call this a DIET again....as a family we started to eat better and watch our portion sizes and started walking, the pounds came off slowly but surely...after awhile I incorporated the gym...more to come
