Alot of times I have a lack of confidence.I dont know why but some days I can strut my stuff and I know that I look good and other days I look in the mirror and I see 325 lb Pina. When I see that image the new thinner me is gone. Those are the days where I want to crawl in to a hole and never come out.I was talking to friend of mine about my lack of confidence and he said to me that I have lots of it I just need to use it more. It's a different take on it.The new picture I posted shows me as of Saturday, when I weighed in I was at 213.4.I also got a haircut.I like it and it shows that as a person I have changed and that I am happier now.
When Mike left I swore that once he comes back that my weight will be around 205.I guess life had a different idea for me.Since I started WW again I have had good loses but the average is going down. The first 4 weeks I had an average of 2.65 lbs,the second month my average was 1.75 lbs, third month my average was 1.6 lbs,and the 4 th month my average was 1.0.So far for this month my average is 1.3 lbs.I have had 3 gains and one zero weigh in.Total loss since starting is 33.2 lbs.So frustrating..........in book 10 of WW it explains plateaus:the first few weeks are "water weight " that you lose. What causes water weight loss.By reducing calories your body responds by releasing its stored glycogen( stored form of carbs found in the muscle and liver).Glycogen holds water,so when its burned for energy,it releases water.
Since you're eating fewer calories, your body starts burning up it's glycogen stores, and then, after they're gone, you'r body starts burning fat for energy, which is exactly what you want. But because fat does NOT hold water and it takes twice as much energy to burn fat, you'll see slower losses on the scale.
Did you know if you lose more then 2 lbs a week you reduce your metabolism and slows weight loss.
Also a smaller body uses fewer calories because there is less weight to move around.Or any new medication could cause weight gain.
So now that we know what the cause is,and if you think you are hitting a plateau. The only way to get passed it is to watch your portion controls, track your food, and most important keep with it.After a while your body will re-adjust and continue the weight loss or sometimes you just need to give your body a break.I hope that my body re-adjusts quickly. My goal is to lose 25 lbs by October. Why you ask ???Because I finally got the call I have been waiting for,my file is finally moving forward and my medical and interview are coming up.My earliest date to leave for basic is October.I know I will lose weight while there but 25 lbs need to go before leaving.More updates to come
And on the last and final note my training for the Half Marathon is going great.Week 1 complete, week 2 started today.
Rock it Sista!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying reading your blog. My daughter met you at WW and she suggested that I might like to read your blog. I have a couple of blogs too and really enjoy working on them. I lost a lot of weight after a health crisis that started 2 years ago. I am working on getting healthy and fit, but it is a slow process. I still need to loose a lot of weight but I have a lot of support and am sure that I will get there eventually.
